Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike to Mandara Hut

Your day begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate (1,970m), where you’ll register for entry into Kilimanjaro National Park. After meeting your professional mountain guide, you’ll begin your ascent through the dense tropical rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, exotic birds, and vibrant flora. The trail is well-maintained, offering a moderate but steady climb.

After about 3–4 hours of hiking, you’ll reach Mandara Hut, the first rest point for summit climbers. Enjoy your packed lunch here and, if time allows, take a short walk to the Maundi Crater for panoramic views stretching to Kenya’s plains. After soaking in the mountain air and scenery, descend back through the forest to Marangu Gate, where your vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Moshi.
