Arusha National Park Day Safari

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Enjoy a scenic early-morning drive through lush foothills, small villages, and coffee farms. Along the way, catch glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru rising above the plains.

Arrive at the park’s main gate, where you’ll complete registration and receive a short briefing from your guide or park ranger. From here, your adventure begins — entering one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and ecologically diverse parks.

Begin your morning game drive through the Ngurdoto Crater area, often called the “Little Ngorongoro.” Spot buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, and colobus monkeys moving between forest and open grassland. Your guide will share insights about the park’s unique ecosystems and animal behaviors.

Drive through lush montane forest, home to blue monkeys, bushbucks, and vibrant birdlife. Stop briefly for photos at scenic viewpoints overlooking Ngurdoto Crater or the Tululusia Waterfall trail.

Enjoy your packed lunch at the peaceful Momella Lakes picnic site. As you dine, watch flamingos, hippos, and waterfowl drift across the alkaline waters — a serene contrast to the park’s forested hills.

Choose between a guided walking safari or a canoe ride (depending on park conditions and water levels). The walking safari, led by an armed ranger, gives you a close look at wildlife tracks, plants, and birdlife. The canoe ride offers a calm perspective of the park’s landscapes and animals from the water.

Continue your exploration toward the Mount Meru Viewpoint, one of the park’s most scenic areas. Enjoy breathtaking views of Tanzania’s second-highest peak while spotting herds of zebra and antelope grazing nearby.

After a day of incredible nature and wildlife experiences, begin your drive back to Moshi or Arusha, arriving at your accommodation by 6:30 PM — relaxed, fulfilled, and full of memories.
